Anyone else double charged for NG Hotel?

Wow, just wow. Would have NEVER seen this coming.

How do we protect ourselves from this happening again?

Lori, you did a SUPER job and should not feel guilty for what happened. They took advantage of you and all the attendees.

Indianapolis was a fabulous venue, but if we're going to get screwed, maybe its time to move on (and not look back).....

As most of you know, I did NOT attend this year, but if I had, and this had happened I would be in the same unhappy boat as you are.

I agree, I never would have seen this coming either. The hotels were really clean (and in a good neighborhood), and the owner owned that godfather's pizza (which was delicious).

I LOVE Godfather's. They have the cheese melted over all the toppings, right? I haven't had one in 30 years since I attended Purdue.

I have worked out terms of repayment. I am going to meet him in person and collect a check for $380.00 on Saturday morning. If anyone else who was ripped off wants me to bring a note or give a phone number, anything - let me know.

Make him sign an invoice, stating he is issuing you a check for $380, for being overcharged at XXX hotel on XXX dates. Also make a notation stating if the funds are not available, he agrees to cover any and all costs associated with collecting the due amount. Have 2 copies, one for him, one for you, both of you sign both copies, bring a witness if you can.

That way, if the check bounces, or he tries to cancel it on you, you are covered for your time, expenses, court costs, etc.
