Very good move on the OP part. That car is not for the inexperience- not meant to be offensive. That thing looks like it was built in the backyard of somebody that didn't care, that FMIC looks Frankensteined. It would be very hard to troubleshoot anything because it looks like everything was done half-assed.

Looks to me the seller bought somebody's problem and now trying to pawn it off to somebody else.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. When I called the owner today to tell him I was not going to come and look at the car he was pretty mad.

I simply told him some of the things you guys noticed about the car and he ended up telling me he was having some electrical problems. Hmmmmm......Interesting!

The purchase I plan on making in the future would resemble something like this, just second gen.

    1991 VR4 TwinTurbo 3000gt 78K Miles

That car is clean and needs an engine. If I ever find something like that, I will be golden. Hell, I should have never sold my 94' SL.

Once again, you guys were a great help.
Ahhh, One last fix. And it would literally be perfect for ......prolly a week BUT! thats still a week of perfection.

Ask if he would take 1K for a car that needs an engine and has electrical issues.

That car looks much nicer but it sucks it seems to be another rod knock. I'm glad April saw the wires. I missed that.

    Hey, guys im back!

Here is the link I posted a couple days ago to a clean first gen

    1991 VR4 TwinTurbo 3000gt 78K Miles

I offered the owner 2k on the car and he will take it. Do you think it would be a good investment?

I found an engine around here for $850 with 33k miles on it.

That '91 looks to be quite clean & the mileage is good, but it kind of makes you wonder how it could have spun a bearing at under 80,000 miles. Either way, if you have another engine lined up for $850 & figure probably another $500-$1,500 into fixing things up here & there, you'd still be into a nice first gen. VR-4 for under $5,000.00...IMHO, that wouldn't be too bad 'cause I'm about $8,500-$9,000 into my '91 R/T TT ($5,500 purchase price in '08) & am still fixing it up.

The owner said there was a ripped oil cooler line, which leaked the oil out resulting in a lack of lubrication.

That is one clean looking 91 given the age/mileage. And that color is sex, a good polish/wax job will really make it look beautiful.

It appears to be a good project car, check for rust though.

    The '91 is pretty!
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.
