Injector resistor pack removal

Hi all,

I recently purchased some Injector Dynamics 725cc injecotrs after my tuner reccomended them and they got a good rap whe ni asked about htem on here. Now the issue I have is that they are a high impedence saturation injector not a peak and hold low resistance injector like the stock setup so I believe I have to remove the resistor pack to make them work efficiently. I believe they will run with the resistor but I read it's best to remove it.

So.... how do I do it

IDs are awesome injectors yes,,agree. I use the 1000's on the NW3S Racecar.
Basically just remove the resistor pack. You don't need it any longer.
Remove the resistor and connect the wires directly. At the plus there on the firewall.
You can still use the plug to direct connect that way if you ever want to revert back you just unplug it and plug in another resistor pack.

OK so from my understanding this is the resistor pack [14922 in the pic] but it only has one plug. So when you say connect the wires directly do I jump the pins with a small loop of wire? I haven't yet had a look at the actual plug on the car but from what I can tell in the wiring diagram plug A-69 is the resistor plug and it only has 8 wires/pins.......

Yes, thats the part.
It's been a while since I did it but IIRC I removed the resistor part completely (the ceramic and all), then connected all the wires together into a solder lug. You can use something like a large battery solder lug, tin em all, put them in, solder em up then heatshrink wrap them. Then all you have to do is plug it back in and your good to go.

You're basically taking the resistor out of the circuit. When you pull it out and apart you'll see what I mean. It's easy as well as straightforward.

wait so let me get this straight. if you use ID injectors on an n/a > tt conversion, you won't have to wire injector resistors?

If you use ID injectors (or any high impedance ones) you do not use the resistor pack.

Correct as the NA does not have the resistor to begin with.

You can always integrate your own resistors into the harness but it won't be as straightforward as buying high impedance injectors to begin with. I wouldn't kick yourself over it too much. If it comes down to it just sell the ones you have now. If they are brand new you shouldn't take too much of a loss on them.
