I'm pretty sure those require you to grind down that bolt/stud also. I think I remember a thread once where he said you did anyway. Pretty much with any larger radiator I think you do. I think that is the only thing you need to do though.

What about the mishimoto, have you heard if you half to grind them down with it? I know it's only a 1.65" core vs the 2" of the 3sx and koyo. Maybe that extra .35" will make a difference .

I can't say a bad thing about my Mishimoto. Fitment is as good as any I've seen. I think you're hit or miss on the bolt though. If I had the larger brackets, I'd be happy to throw them on to see if it hits in my 1st gen, but I've not seen a reason I'd want to spring for them. The strapping works just fine.
Wish I could be of more help. Good luck.

I haven't but if I need to grind cut one bolt to fit a bigger radiator it's not a bad trade off.

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered a mishimoto, for the price I just don't think I'm going to be able to beat it and since I've already had problems with the 2" core koyo I'm really concerned to go with another 2" core radiator.

Yeah, if I half to I'll just grind it down, I just worry a little bit about damaging them! I don't want my A/C system to leak .

To update this thread, I ended up going with the mishimoto and it fits (just barely). I ended up using maximal's koyo brackets, but I had to cut a notch in them to get them to clear the hump in the middle of the mishimoto radiator as well as bend them slightly to get the bolt holes to line up, but when all said and done the radiator is extremely secure and I have around an 1/8th of inch of clearance between the radiator and the front bar of the car and around 1/4 inch of clearance between the stock fans and the intercooler piping!
