    Misfire / knock... Halp!

I was going to drive my car to the armory this morning.. but my car had other plans.
It started a little rough... but I kinda ignored it.

I tried backing out the driveway and pulled forward... and it sounded like hell.
    Its knocking real bad, misfiring...
I guessed plugs and wires... (even though I put NGK's in a while back)
well, after a new set... I think it sounded worse!
    WTF is going on????

where do I begin? I hope this isnt an engine job. My car will sit a long long time before I decide to do anything with it... I will be deployed soon.

coils are marked on the mounting bracket, but from top to bottom they go 1-4-2-5-3-6

Open up your ecu and see if the caps are leaking.

this sounds like a real hard knock. Im thinking its something a little serious.
Reminds me of when my old '88 jimmy took a dump.

I agree with Hans. Check your ECU for leaking caps.

IIRC the oil pressure was fine. But I have been burning oil just like most 3S's

I will inspect the ECU shortly and come back here with results.
Thanks for the link... helps me understand more of what Im doing.

I took a 2nd look at the "caps". Saw tiny bubbles in the one, and larger ones in the other two.
I dont think its healthy. Who can I have fix it?

also... how possible is it that it may be the coil packs? and how could I test them instead of burning $150?
