    Problems with Hallman Pro MBC

Purchased a Hallman Pro MBC from STM during their Xmas sale last year. Installed it in March when the weather was warming up. It ran great for awhile but slowly I kept getting less and less boost at the same setting.

Ok, I figure springs are breaking in. I kept turning it (in the direction labeled on the controller for more boost) and I don't get any more boost. NG comes around and turns out I'm only running 12psi. By the time I leave NG I'm running 10psi and have been giving it a half a turn (maybe a little more) when I leave for work and on my way back. So that's 2.5 turns a week and no change.

Tonight, I just unplugged my pressure source to my wastegate and ran it while closely monitoring my boost. Easily makes it to 16psi.

Is there a stop when it's all the way in? Is my hallman bad already? Is there any warranty on these?

I haven't check it in awhile, but that wouldn't make any sense to me since it'll make all the boost you want with it disconnected.

Pull it apart, assuming its still a ball and spring. Stretch it a touch and clean it out good.

not the knob side, but the nipple side. don't tighten it too much when you put it back together or you'll rip the O-ring, hallman actually recommends using your hands to tighten instead of a wrench.

They say on their website to just send it in if there's any problems, so I may just contact them and do it while the car is down....again

There's really not much else that can go wrong and cause your issues, other than the spring getting grime on it and staying partially compressed, or the o-ring on the inlet side getting ripped.

Or the ball sticking to the seat, causing a massive spike to 24+psi on pump gas and nearly costing me an engine...

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!
