What is this stuff? Im worried...

So I was under the car changing the oil and draining my coolant when I saw this "stuff" all over the driver side of the oil pan.

Anyone know what this might be and where it might have come from? Its light brown in color and feels like grease. It was only located in the pictures shown.

I haven't noticed the car driving any differently. The last time I was under it was 3,000 miles ago when I changed the oil. It has only seen daily driving... with the occasional high speed sprint on the highway.

I bet the boot on your drive shaft has split. That looks like axle grease.

Could I create any more problems if I continue to drive it like this until my new front axle comes in? I'm just going to order the whole axle, there is only a small price difference between just the boot and the whole damn axle. It is my daily driver so I have no choice but to at least drive it to work and back.
