I installed tomato for two reasons. First, I hadn't used it yet, and reviews looked good. Second, dd-wrt was giving me problems with forwarding ports.
I think tomato overheated my router because the initial problem was that it could not get an IP from my cable modem. I did a couple power cycles, a 30/30/30 reset, and finally after the 30/30/30, put the dd-wrt back on. I was able to open up dd-wrt but going to the 192.168.1.1 page only worked for about 1 second and then it couldn't connect. Then the router starting up was hit or miss. Sometimes the power light would go solid, other times it would keep flashing. I noticed that it operated normally for a couple seconds if I unplugged it, let it cool down, then plugged it back in. Made it work normal for like 10 seconds. I don't think its a software issue now... now its hardware.
So I ordered a E4200. Hopefully it is as good as the reviews say.
Just got internet at my new place today. Here is with my laptop running on the WiFi.

well work isn't too bad on speed...but the excessive amount of security software, bloatware, and lord knows whatever else is installed--coupled with the abysmal speed (i'm guessing these are pentium 4's) makes for a browsing experience SLOWER than accessing the internet at my hotel room. ick.
