Why don't you have a seat over there?

Tattle: NBC 'Gotcha!' artist gets got | Philadelphia Daily News | 06/30/2011

TO QUOTE Mary Chapin Carpenter, "Sometimes you're the windshield/Sometimes you're the bug."
Predator-catching Chris Hansen, of "Dateline NBC," made such a big name for himself luring unsuspecting kiddie pervs to suburban homes that "Saturday Night Live" turned him into a sketch character.

Well, now there's a new punchline.

The National Enquirer, gunning for another run at the Pulitzer, has turned the tables on the married Hansen and tracked him with hidden cameras, catching him in a sex scandal with a sexy Florida blonde who's a lot younger than Hansen . . . but not young enough to be a minor.

For nearly four months, Enquirer sources say, the 51-year-old father of two sons has been cheating on his wife, Mary, with Kristyn Caddell, a news anchor at the West Palm Beach NBC affiliate, who just became the lead story on the West Palm ABC, CBS and Fox affiliates. Hansen lives in Connecticut, but he's been spending time in South Florida investigating the disappearance of a missing boater - and his thorough investigation seems to have brought Ms. Caddell to Chris's hotel room and him to her apartment.

Really, Chris, what are you doing here? And why are you a carrying a six-pack and condoms?

america is WAAAAAY too wrapped around the axle about sex.

    let's see:

    he's an adult
    she's an adult
...nope, no problems here. wife can file for divorce, take him to the cleaners for alimony for the rest of his natural life. end of story.

i fail to see what the problem is here.

The problem is that he did her and they didn't. :P
"This is a ridiculous cause and effect suggestion."
"Yeah, kind of like the sun rising and then morning happening, eh? What are they trying to pull on us?"

"If I wanted to hear from an asshole, I'd fart into a microphone."

"It's easy. Take the last f*ck, and let it go, and thus you shall have no more f*cks to give."

The problem is that if people can't keep their promises to their partners then they ought not to get married in the first place. Apparently the concept that marriage is a lifelong commitment to your partner is completely lost on modern American.

I agree, people should keep their vows. It speaks great volumes about a person who doesn't.

    As for me...marriage?

    i agree.

but i think it's a systemic, worldwide problem--highly perpetrated by religious bunk. religion has decreed that extramarital sex is NOT permissible--and therein lies the bulk of the problem. marriage is a choice, one that i believe is a continuous, daily choice one must make to continue in a relationship with the other (my own objectivist interpretation). religion, on the other hand, treats it like a shackle.

i think instances like this one are what's needed to start re-evaluating the concept of marriage. hopefully people can eventually come to terms with it and treat it with the reverence it should have always had--rather than flippantly as a "get nookie for free" card.

"Til death do you part" is not what I consider a daily choice. Not that I'm disagreeing with divorce, but to define marriage as a "daily choice" is against the grain of most any vows I've ever read/heard. Dating someone I would agree is a daily choice.
