I just would like to know what this rectangle thing is on the back of the passenger/temp radiator fan. I know its not temp sensor to actually turn the fan on because those are in the radiator...Its on a 91 VR4 if that matters...

The only thing I came up with in ASA is a resistor, radiator shroud blower (part #MB660754).. but I don't know if it is the same part you are talking about.

Pretty sure it's the resister the fan uses to kick from low to high speed. I think they placed it there as they have a tendency to get hot "hence the metal shield and directly in front of the airflow". Aftermarket fans are just on off so no need for the resistor.

If I have just the a/c fan, i shouldnt need it either than right
