I have a few questions. About how much bhp and whp can I expect with this setup? About how much weight will I take off? Can the engine and turbos handle 15 psi? Will it make too much power for a 2 bolt main car? And finally what's this I'm hearing about a new 3000GT coming out soon that would be awesome?
you'll get a lot more bang for the buck if you upgrade the turbos & add supporting mods--rather than trying to lighten the car; at least at first. 1g's are going for ~$5,000 for good ones--way less for beat ones. you can find 2g's for under 10k regularly. 7k isn't a lot for performance mods AND a paint job--since a quality paint job will run you ~4 grand alone. 15 psi on stock 9b's is probably not possible for most cars unless they're running alky/meth; and again, you're better off upgrading the turbos if you want more power.

you add together the cost of a new downpipe, cf driveshaft, flywheel, cf hood, intake...and you can easily buy a better set of bolt-on turbos. not to say that those parts won't help a bit--but you're talking about a big difference in power. stock 1g vr4 can probably run 12 flat 1/4 with mostly full interior and some lightweight parts to boot (pump gas). that same 1g vr4 with no lightweight parts & some 13t's & supporting mods can probably hit low-mid 11's (also pump gas). long story short--put money in faster parts before you spend money on making your existing setup faster.

2-bolts will hold the power. there are no recorded instances of td-04's "overpowering" a stock 2-bolt--and even if you did push it, you can buy a stud-kit to solve that problem. 4-bolts are only a "requirement" for people trying to build strokers.

there is no new 3000gt, as brian said.

I might be a new owner of both a 3000GT & a Dodge Stealth passed down from my grandpa. The 3000GT has been sitting and I would really like to get her starting again. I'm looking forward to being apart of this community and learn more about these beauties!

By the way, I actually found this forum using the iPhone app Tapatalk and I was looking for 3SI (just registered yesterday). I'm glad I did find this site because I could tell already that this community is pretty helpful and engaging.

if you do all the work yourself, you can probably do it for around a grand. if you are having a PROFESSIONAL shop do it, 4k is a fair price. if you need some body work done, the price might be even higher. you really do tend to get what you pay for. you have to shell out more if you don't want orange peel, etc.

Materials alone are going to run around $1000. For a quality job it is easily $3000. For a color change, add another $1000-$2000.
