Hi everyone,
I have a 1991 Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo, which misfires/chokes/hesitates when accelerating moderately around 2500-3500 rpm? (it performs fine under heavy acceleration?!)
I have already replaced plugs, leads, coil-packs, earth straps, air filter, dump/blow off valve, and vacuum hosing and have tried diagnostics using datalogger software on my laptop.
Whilst the above has improved the running of the vehicle, the fundamental symptoms described above still exist? - I now suspect the issue may be injector, turbo, or fuel pump/pressure regulator related?
The datalogger software enables me to disable individual injectors, and each one impacts the running of the engine which suggests each are running to a certain degree. I have run a data logging session for 40 mins (over a 20mile journey), and the obvious observation when the issue manifests itself is a significant downward spike on the Injector Pulse Width?
- does this suggest a direct issue with the injector(s) or could this be a result of a faulty turbo, fuel pressure or boost leak?
Any help greatly appreciated![]()
