you're welcome, steve. i hope at least some of the 3sgto members have come to a new-found appreciation for watching the world cup. soccer gets a very undeserved bad-rap by many, many people here in the US. today's final (even though we lost) is an example of how great soccer can be. even with the loss, the US had its best finish of the last 3 cups; and we've still never finished lower than 3rd. tomorrow, we will likely still be ranked #1 in the world--and with ample justification.

I think it's more an example of how frustrating it can be. I love playing soccer, but the fact that one team can dominate the field for 110 minutes and still lose is incredibly disappointing. This does not happen nearly as often as, say, football. I'm glad I was able to catch this game because it was very exciting to watch, even though watching other non-US teams play was like watching paint dry.

BTW, was anyone else thinking that the striker that subbed in the second half was too pretty to be playing soccer? DAMN! My wife was thinking the same thing!

i don't think watching the other teams was boring. i yelled my head off watching japan beat mexico. brazil was also fun to watch (even if they are a bunch of actresses). france was very impressive this year too.
