Radiator leaking :/

That is a good price too! Things get to the point of a new radiator I'll have to look at that.

1. radiator plugs are cheap.

2. the 3sx single-pass is probably the best bang-for-buck coolant mod you can do. it's kinda hard to fuck up a radiator. only LMI could do it.

So I went with the mishimoto and it fits alright however the mounting brackets for the top don't just drop right on. I used some bushings left over for a kit to put in the holes on the bottom to give it a cushion (metal on metal bad) and I have the top zip tied down for now. It can't really move around and I haven't had any problems so far. Going to have someone see if they can modify the brackets a bit to get them to fit.

Be careful of the bolt/stud for the AC. With the radiator installed, it's near impossible to see that it's hitting the core. The mishimoto (or any 2" core radiator) WILL hit it, and give you another hole if it's not trimmed, or the radiator set back a little. I have a 3sx single pass in the garage with just such a hole in it.

I solved the problem by using steel strapping instead of the 3sx top mounts. Just ran it from the top posts to the rear stock mount bolt. Holds it securely, and allows me to tilt the radiator slightly back to clear the stud nicely. I use 2 driver side fans, but I installed it initially with the stock passenger side fan, and it will fit.

You'd run into the same issue with a Koyo. They are just a hair too tall.

It is amazing how cheap a stop by a decent radiator shop can be, and you can find out just what is wrong. They may be able to solder the hole shut for a small amount or tell you to replace the whole thing.

Unfortunately if you have a rad shop you are lucky! It seems all the really good ones got EPA'd out of existence. The chemistry of cleaning and soldering rads got labeled as severely toxic, and of course it is if you are ingesting it!

Soldering is difficult unless you have ruby fluid. Its the only flux that ever worked for me. Solder doesnt work on aluminum if you have a newer rad.
