    Oil sender issue

Anyone run into this problem? I installed new oil pressure gauge and the sender needed an adapter to fit the metric hole. Seemed ok and seems to work well. Got the axles back in tonight and found this issue.

The sender is touching the cv boot can i switch it with the switch? If not it is use a angle adapter? Any ideas?

Those big sender units require a 90 degree adapter.

i dont think it matters which hole u use, however one might be more accurate than the other

i currently have my oil switch and a mechanical guage on a T from the oil pump
that's how the instructions from the guage kit recommended anyway

i hate messing with these things. such a cramped spot to work and you have to drain the oil every time you mess with them

hans, why is the 90* angle needed? is too high or too low pressure if it were straight?
or is it just so it won't touch the axle?

I never used an adapter. I just threaded the sender into the hole. NPT is close enough to BSPT...LOL

Hey it doesn't leak and it works :P

I did that with the temp sender. The oil sender didn't want to start in the hole so I went with the adapter

A 45 degree adapter fixed the problem. The sender now points parallel with the ground under the power steering pump. All is good n2nsanity I didn't drain any oil dealing with it. It drizzled about a teaspoon of oil out and then it was done. Looks good and works too

i drain it because i spray a ton of brake cleaner and stuff and hit it with a wire brush
maybe im just paranoid about getting any dirt in the oil

Ahh ok that makes sense.. had me worried that when I pulled it I would have a huge leak Everything down there was clean so I wasn't as worried about that :P
