I'm not condoning the riots at all as I think that's retarded but to some people a sport is a lot more than a sport. I'm a huge fan of a couple teams and although I'm not going to go light cars on fire if they win or lose but I'm going to be in a rather shitty mood for a while if they lose a game like Vancouver did.

I totally agree with you. Like I said, for Packers and Husker games I get intense! However, these people are are neanderthals. There have been multiple reports of people wearing Bruins jerseys getting assaulted after the game, landing them in the hospital. After seeing this, I hope the Canucks never win the Stanley Cup.

I had friends in Green Bay call me in the middle of the night after the Super Bowl trying to talk me into coming down, it was so amazing.

People were coming out with their kids and lining the streets all over the city, cheering and partying.

i agree. any city that responds to a playoff loss with this kind of debauchery will hopefully NEVER win a championship. it's a horrible example of behavior. if i were league president, i would either penalize the city by enforcing a 1-year ban on the team, or by moving the team altogether. this shit is disgraceful and reflects poorly on the league--not just the city.

Yup. We have some REALLY extreme Husker fans that go to every football game here in Lincoln. However, if a Husker fan, at home, tried to pull any stunt like this (rioting or attacking a fan of the opposite team) he'd get his ass whooped by other Husker fans. It's good to be intense as long as people can show some tact and social graces while doing so.
