What made you switch over from ford?

Not that I would have any practical use for it but that's the exact truck I would love to have!

Of current trucks, the Ram's are the most well appointed dollar for dollar. Have the newest/strongest frame by a mile. Biggest brakes(over 14" front and rear). Pretty well sorted out DEF system since its been on the chassis cab trucks since 07 w/o much drama. Get good mileage, all stock getting around 20mpg, first full tank with work use was 19.9mpg. The Duratracs will probably knock about 1-1.5mpg off that. Michelins will be going on a set of Laramie wheels for the summer/non snow months.

I drove all 3 offerings of diesel trucks. The ford felt the fastest empty, but the ugly as shit front end and i just plain dont trust that new of an engine with all the problems with the used truck I've owned in the past years.

The GM trucks have an outstanding drivetrain, easily the best all around of the group. But notoriously flimsy interiors and electronics. Body dents easily, my uncles truck has dents on it from just leaning over the wheel wells into the bed of his. He's busted the DEF tank twice since it hangs down to low under the body. But i really do like the exterior of the crew/short bed GMC's. Fairly well priced too. But long term i trust the dodge being easier to own vs the GM which is odd to say due to how crappy the pre-2010 trucks were/are as far as cab integrity.

Time will tell if the new electronics in the Rams will prove as reliable/durable as the fords have over the years.

I also didnt want a fully loaded/fancy truck and the lower trim Fords really look it. The GM's have such an outdated interior i really couldnt justify the amount of money for a truck thats no better inside than my 06 Lariat Ford which i certainly spend an awful lot of my time in.

The only "mods" i intend on doing is losing the tacky chrome bumper, getting a unchromed one painted body color f/r and i'd like to add flip out tow mirrors since these as i was worried(i really didnt want the flip out mirrors) are just a little too narrow for my comfort level pulling my big work trailer around all summer in heavy traffic. Also Laramie wheels for some Michelins for the warm months and towing long distances which is pretty much only done in the warmer months.

Oh and on another note, our very own Alex3000gt was on the engineering team for the cooling systems on the truck. Which is always cool to know someone from behind the scenes on the engineering side of the truck.

I work for the Chrysler scan tool group. It makes me happy to see people do their research and pick Chrysler for the right reasons.

Side note: we ordered the module for the vgt and the only way to get it is with the whole turbo. We put it in the scale yesterday, 47.5 pounds! Since they are more than likely going to throw the turbo away I called dibs hoping they'll let me pull it out of the trash first .

And to keep true to the thread, here's the most recentest picture of my car (and truck). The day I towed it to a buddy's to store it for winter.
