Can you hook those up backwards by accident?

The way I've got the wiring setup in mind is such that it the positive and negative wires won't be near each other, these will be a bit cleaner for me.
I'm going to wire them so that one terminal on the battery has a male terminal and the other has a female terminal so they can only be plugged into one end, so as to avoid fuck ups.

yup - the included documentation indicate that they will accomdate up to 4/0 gauge wire.
