I'm personally pretty excited about it. Chizik has been a great evaluator of coaching talent so far with the only questionable hire being Ted Roof (and we still won a MNC with Roof's defense)

This was my conclusion as well. Seems like a risky hire since he has very little OC experience but he seems like a very balanced personality. We might be seeing good 'ole fashioned Auburn football again very soon (War Damn Defense).

THIRTEEN years for tree killing?! Ho-ly shit, the world we live in...

Didn't Vick get like two years for killing and torturing dogs?

Although I guess it's not unprecedented!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_Oak_(Austin,_Texas)

(another sacred tree killing idiot; he got 9 years...)

Here's what that tree USED to look like:

    *edit*

Austin's idiot had a bit of a history though...

That dude was arrested 8 times beforehand, and convicted of 6 different crimes over 20 years. He served 18 months in jail for one of the crimes.

BTW he didn't even serve 4 years of the 9 year sentence.

Yeah I know. Charles Barkley was quoted as saying that's a little ridiculous. I agree. I think he should serve 4-5 years.

Hah, had they just put 13 years in prison and left out the part about never going to a Crimson Tide sporting event, he probably would have agreed

I hope part of his jail time includes reruns of Punt Bama Punt, Bo Over the Top, and the Camback.

This could be total BS, but I figure at least Jeremy (and likely Telionis) will be interested.

Oliver Luck and Oklahoma’s Joe Castiglione are both candidates to replace Neinas as Big 12 commissioner. Luck has an obvious advantage over Castiglione in that he is close to Texas AD DeLoss Dodds and a graduate of the Texas School of Law
    .

This has me worried. I do not want to lose Oliver Luck.

As for the ACC talk, I just don't see it happening. The buyout is tremendous, and those teams are well situated in a conference that will continue to get an AQ bid. Doesn't seem like there's much motivation for them to defect.

    Jeremy
