Does the BE really think they are strengthening themselves with these additions? Even being the huge fan that I am I wouldn't consider WVU elite, but they are a top program year after year. Pitt has some decent years and while Cuse hasn't been great in a while, they have history. They are losing those 3 and are bringing in Boise, which in my opinion is on an even keel with WVU, SDSU (um ok), SMU (haven't been good since before the death penalty), UCF (decent fit but not a top school), Houston (had a good year this year but will fade into obscurity) and supposedly Navy (nothing special).

They are gaining nothing but numbers. They are going to be another version of Conference USA and the MAC now.

And you've got no evidence whatsoever to support your point (that they would be a middle of the road team in the B12 or SEC).

My match-up analyzer of choice, which adjusts for strength of schedule, predicts that whoever hosted the game (Boise vs Michigan) would win a squeaker... And it predicts Michigan would win @ VTech by 9.

No, it doesn't make your point at all. And until we get to play that joke of a team nothing will. Thankfully records aren't decided by predictors and calculators. We'll beat VT by 9? Big deal, we could still lose, then what? ANy given Saturday, anything can happen. Nebraska was just fine when we played them, beat them fair and square. We didn't "avoid" PSU, it's the first year of two division B1G play, Adam, the schedule didn't provide for it.

MY point is that Boise is not an elite program and didn't get "snubbed" by anyone. They've played decent teams a couple times and also managed to choke the last two seasons. I'd say the burden of proof is on Boise State to win some big games and prove they deserve to be in the conversation.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.” -- Author Unknown

Hey, I never said they got snubbed. Once they lost, they probably weren't getting into a BCS bowl. I said I think they'd beat Michigan

Yeah she loves football, which certainly makes Saturdays and Sundays easy, haha. Lost her voice Thanksgiving during the A&M game.

Shoooot, I assumed Texas was out of the top 25 after that 2nd half beat down by Baylor.

    But look at that...
    #24 Texas (7-5)
    #25 Auburn (7-5)

BCS REALLY likes our SOSs. Will be interesting how these two teams perform in their bowl games. Then we will be able to say if the rankings are justified.

No offense, but I don't see anything coming from the result of those games. Auburn has Virginia, and Texas has Cal. I expect both of those games to be dominated by Texas and AU. If Texas can dial up some offense, that is. The AU/UVA game *might* be interesting, but I doubt it. Cal's best game is a a close loss to Stanford. Virginia has 2 decent wins over GT and FSU. I really think both AU, and UT will roll over these teams.

Not that I think WV really deserves to be in the top 25. I mean, we lost to friggin' Syracuse, talk about a glaring black mark on our record. The Louisville loss sucks too, but not as bad as that 'Cuse destruction. We have everything to gain in our game. Not that Clemson isn't somewhat over rated as well(that horrible loss to NC State), but they did stomp VT big time, twice no less, to get to where they are. And they have some good wins over a few other top 25 teams. Watkins and Hopkins have me scared to death at what they might do to our defense.

I disagree. Auburn's loses have been blowouts because they've played opponents far better than they are. That's made measuring the true level of the team hard to do. Now we get to see how they perform against a slightly above average opponent. Same can be said for Texas.
