The 'predictor' column of the sagarin rankings are pretty upsetting:

    1 LSU
    2 Alabama
    3 Oregon
    4 Boise State
    5 Oklahoma

Silver lining - An SEC rematch in the title game means I'll be doing something productive that night!

An in-conference rematch for the MNC will never happen. The voters would make sure of it.

No doubt. I had little interest in watching Auburn mop them up last year; definitely NO interest in the sequel.

As long as they win out that shouldn't be a problem. At this stage of the game I can't see Clemson losing so I have them as a shoe-in for an undefeated season. Then again it is Clemson. They always find a way to blow a game don't they?

Either way, Clemson would get destroyed by Alabama and LSU. Hell, ANY team would get destroyed by those two. I seriously can't think of anyone that will beat them this year except for when they face each other.

Yeah, OU was over rated. I think OU, Okie State, Clemson, etc, are all at about the same level... A nice step down from LSU/Bama. Boise State probably gives the SEC the best fight since I think they're less of a finesse team than Okie State.

So Texas is 2-8 in its last 10 Big 12 games.

I'd like to see Okie State vs. LSU-Alabama. Clemson will be in the Orange playing BE #1.

I wouldn't. LSU-Bama would massacre that team just like LSU did to Oregon.

There's really no team that can't be said about, so I picked one of the contenders.

The last 3 Cotton Bowls tell me what I need to know about how OSU will match up with an SEC team. The way Texas' talented (but very green) secondary stifled Weeden/Blackmon was also telling. If we had our typical insanely talented D-line, we probably win that game. Something tells me LSU/Bama aren't dealing with similar depth problems along the line...

The B12 finesse offenses struggling with SEC defenses is why I'm glad Texas is suffering through this season to install a running game that works inside the 10 where all these spread/air raid attacks struggle so badly. Our goal is to become an SEC-style team (run the ball, play smash mouth D, let the QB manage the O), and dominate the B12.

Additionally, it's why, of the teams still standing, I think BSU has the best shot at competing against LSU/Bama.
