Saw that this morning. Should be interesting.
oooo... Hopefully you guys can start stealing more of the Texas guys that Texas/OU pass on. Being able to recruit Florida AND Texas like you will is pretty unique... Actually, I suppose that Florida pipeline may dry up since you won't be playing USF, etc anymore?
We've picked up a few "looked-overs" out of Texas for this year. This Jordan Thompson kid is shaping up to be the next Tavon Austin. And Ford Childress (qb) looks like he could be something special (if he can stay out of trouble, got a DUI a month or so ago). As well as a few others that will contribute fairly quickly.
We're deeply entrenched in Florida recruiting; that's not going to change. We've been recruiting there for a long, long, time. If anything, I look for us to be more of a power there, by virtue of playing in the B12, rather than the BE.

I don't buy into the FSU/B12 talk, whatsoever. They have no reason to leave. Their new media deal gives them 17.1mil/annual. The ACC is a solid conference with steep buyouts. They'd be looking at 20mil (minimum) to get out(which they don't have), and then have to wait 4 years to get to the full 20mil/annual from the B12. There is no upside for them, at all. This is the same BS as back in September when they were supposedly going to the SEC.
USF never had any impact on our Florida recruiting ability. They've only been in the BE for a few years. And only playing football for a few years, as well. Telling a kid, hey you get to play in Florida one game, every other year, isn't exactly enticing, lol.

Deontay McManus would have looked nice at OSU... you guys got him...
does WV ever sign anyone from WV?![]()
real 3s'ers have NoCar transfer cases...
I'm very happy with getting McManus. Was kind of a surprise.
Honestly, it's fairly rare, not a lot of talent. Right now we have Ryan Nehlen (Don Nehlen's grandson), Josh Jenkins (excellent o-lineman), Molinari (punter) out of WV. There's a few others, but none really worth mentioning. There's a really good rb out of Charleston that we offered, but he went with NC or something silly.

I agree, there's no reason for FSU and Clemson to leave the ACC. We do need to get WVU some partners in crime so they're not so isolated, just waiting to be SEC-poached.
I just want a couple more years of true round robin. I hated the unbalanced divisions and schedules.
