Yeah the 1st gen is different from 2nd. My car is a 95 base but I did a TT/AWD conversion so I'm running a 1st gen TT ECU in a 2nd gen car. Screw hot wiring the fans. If you don't want to change it around a bit to make it work stock then just pick up a derale fan controller like I use. You will need to get another one if you want to run the smaller fan because they only handle 25 amps and our fans pull about 20 a piece.
