Pretty much. It annoys me that Microsoft thought that 7 was already dated. Who do they think is going to use this? Certainly not business users. This looks like something meant for a tablet, not a real computer for getting shit done. You can't get anything productive done on that. What a crap UI and they're proud of it. It's funny how MS can make a great OS, but they consistently make a crap one in between and then have to fix it with the next release. Nothing like doing it twice.

Thanks for wasting my time MS.

windows 8 is really just the interface addon... it should be called Windows 7 (touch edition)..

    I want it on a laptop(touch screen).

3.1 i used for a while too. 95 wasn't nearly as bad as some of the others on the list. it did have growing pains at first, but after the first year or so, 95 > 3.1 by a mile. of course when 98 came out, 95 was dogshit; although i never got as many blue-screens-of-death with 95 as i did with 98.

i like to think of vista as "windows 7 beta". just like unreal 2k3 was "unreal 2k4 beta".

i doubt i'll upgrade at all. i'll stick with 7 until i have to buy a new pc. it's not like i'll lose the ability to play games due to my OS at any point in the next 7-10 years.

Pretty much this. Hell, we still use XP on our machines here at work. Linux is reserved for the "special" stuff.

I see no reason to get 8. Windows 7 is working wonderfully for my home computer.

there's a LOT of machines that still use XP where i work too. until a new OS can prove it is secure enough for sensitive information, i don't think those machines will be switching over any time soon--not even to 7.

...our day-to-day pc's are all vista though.
