    Noisy Started Motor

Anyone else have issues with their starter motor being noisy when disengaging?

After I have started the car, upon turning the key from the 'start' position back to the 'on' position, the starter motor seems to get stuck or something and makes a highly embarrasing loud noise.

I will make a video/sound clip when I get around to it. I think I will probably start by removing the starter motor to dissassemble and give it a thorough clean. Just wondering if anyone has similar issues or suggestions, as i've heard of a few similar instances with this happening to our cars?

*EDIT* yes I realise the title should read 'Noisy Starter Motor'

Sounds like the pinion sticking. I would get it rebuilt...I could take apart an alternator OK but a starter motor...Shit everywhere! if you want to take one apart,. buy a 2nd hand one from another mitsu V6, and practice on that first, seriously are a handful!

But yeah def sounds like the pinion is staying engaged for a fraction longer then it should.
