People just do not understand simple math.

Billing period: 2/1/11 - 4/30/11
Readings done: 1/21/11 & 5/10/11

Reading shows 9,000gal use, allotted 8000 per quarter.

Readings are 21 days in excess of my 3months.

If given 8000gal per qtr, results in 2670 gal per month/avg. 21 days at that rate will be 1800 gals allotted, bring my total allowed water to 9800 during the time of readings. I should not be charged for exceeding 8000 gals in my 3 months when the readings were done nearly 4 months apart.

Sure next qtr it will show under 8, but I will not get my "excess usage" money back.

This lady did not seem to understand that.

After 3 calls, and talking to the supervisor, I finally got a call back saying I wont be charged for excess usage. It's only $4.50, but the principle of this is what bothered me.

They rely on people not investigating it themselves like you did. Most people will just say, "Oh crap, guess I gotta pay the overage."

Now count how often municipalities do this to people and you can find a pretty decent amount of money that they can siphon. Most people don't fight stupid charges like this.

Like I said, it wasn't the $4.50, initially I was wound up because I thought I had paid for the year in advance, and thought they were trying to double charge me, which is why i called. I made a mistake. Then since I was on the phone, I was annoyed with that and fought it.

What, so now I'm supposed to know why you feel what you do too? Lol.

I got it fixed...they had issues with their online billing, so I just had the extra credited to my account so that I didn't have to pay the following month...it was just annoying.

your posts demonstrate that you have nothing to offer than quasi-intellectual jargon, slanted interpretations of political events, and other assorted hogwash. it's patently obvious to me that the only thing you feel passionate about is being critical of someTHING...regardless of what that thing is.

you don't need to know why i feel the way i do. all you need to know is that i'm sitting here speaking my mind, freely, by virtue of those who came before me and died to give me that right. i will be faithful to that heritage.
