    ETS Front Mount Install

So I finally got the time to work on the soon to be monster. Time to install the ETS front mount that has been sitting for a month or so lonely...

    The tear down, pretty simple:

The crash bar is a lot lighter than I thought it would be.

A couple things have to go on the 2nd gens, Active Aero (to be replaced with a splitter), All but about 2" of the shroud.

I thought I was getting away with moving the horns up out of the way...

Nope! Didn't work out there... New location.

Test fit to get an idea of how much of the upper shroud will be chopped.

Time to whack the painted side mounts, finally.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

One of five test fits for the T/B pipe. This thing was a real bitch to get right.

After getting it right, I realized with a phone call from Brett (VR4Tune) that apart it comes again to cut the weight off the shifter cables to clear.

Side shot after getting it right.

Finally, it's in there and plumbed!

Had to add a hanger so the damn fat pipe would clear the shifter.

Front turb pipe down and out of the heat of the headers.

    Another T/B side shot.

Drivers side. ETS uses the stock rear turbo piping, but I had the DNP one that matches nicely.

I had to see it with the bumper cover on. Not mounted due to I am making a less monstrous crash bar to flow air better.

Still have to get the splitter. I have to cut the passenger side fan to clear the piping, but I will post pics when done.

ETS makes a quality product, well built. The unfortunate part is the pain in the azz that is 3s, and the lack of room to work. No loss of limbs, but I have ripped it apart enough to do it in my sleep...

    sexy.

i love the all-black. i'm hoping mine looks similar to that (ala lugnut's).

what size core is that? i'm hoping that if it's the same 36x12x4 that mine is--that the 97 bumper hides the end-tanks better.

26x12x3.5 Your end tanks should be out to cover the inner clamps in the pic of mine...

Brett...you should totally just be rid of the black crash bar cover part.. and trim the bar so get more air :P...besides if you get in a wreck the intercooler can be the crash bar anyways lol:P

    Looks great Bill.

It's on the list. Your right about the fmic working as a crash bar. I want a crash bar with tow hooks like jackhammers.
