Dyno Results: Stock MAS VS. MAFT Version 2

We had installed a set of 16T's on 3KVT's 3000GT VR-4, but ran into some stuttering issues last time we dyno'd it. We got that issue resolved with a replacement coil pack, and hit the dyno again yesterday. at 1.07 bar, we dyno'd 323AWHP, with the stock MAS.

After speaking with Marc, we all agreed that it would be beneficial to rip out the stock MAS, install a 3.5" GM MAS and a MAFT Version 2, as the stocker just seemed very restrictive.

We installed that earlier today, and ran the car again. It put down 360AWHP at 1.06 bar...

Needless to say, we are extremely impressed with the power gains from just adding the MAFT Version 2. With some more time and some more tweaking, we could definitely squeeze more power out of her, but she's running like an absolute CHAMP right now.

Good real world test and data. I know that it makes a huge difference after you reach 400awhp. Great to see such results at lower levels too.

I did a complete conversion from stock MAF to 3.0GM MAF with MAFT Gen II.

On stock MAF, I had misfiring up the ass at 15psi under WOT.

On Maft, direct swap, NO tweaking, 23psi, ALL studdering from misfires went away and it was smooth sailing all the way up to redline.

Best mod I've done thus far.

Vacuum reduction, Powdercoated misc, cruise relocate, Evo9 BOV, Custom catch cans, Russell fuel filter, SS braided fuel lines, High flow fuel loop, Autogage fuel gauge, Catless DP, DNP Y-pipe, Fuel pump hotwire.

Im convinced! did you use any other type of device for tuning besides the the Maft2? I forget what all the extra stuff the Maft2 does over the original MAFT. but i know with the Original alot of people..at least DSM guys, ran a MAFT\SAFC Combo.

The GenII is NOTHING like the original. No need for double piggybacking. The Gen II does wideband tracking, has a wide range of inputs, you can log directly from the unit, adjust sooooooooo many different parameters across any RPM scale. The wiring is as simple as it gets. 10 wires tapped at the ECU (boomslang recommended) and you're off to the races.

Nothing in combo with it. There is no need. It is by far a way more advanced piece than the original maft. For the small price difference, it's a no brainer. The results from the stock maf was using an emanage blue for fuel and timing control.
