    minus the excessive "mode-setting", sounds like a fairly normal launch procedure for an ATX; although you'd never be able to hit 4000rpm's from a streetable torque converter. i perform similar launching at the dragstrip--although the last time i did it, i was FWD and was nowhere near < 3 second 0-60. it's not THAT difficult to find a given RPM band though. at the tree, you have probably less than 3 seconds to find your stall speed before the green light--so other than having to "give it a little more gas" to find the 4k (vs. the ~2.2k for a stock 3/s) it's probably very similar. but you'll hit 11's easy.
