It's proven to make you enjoy your car alot more than when it had a 3.0L.

You do realize that they are the same vehicle, right? Pajero = Montero = Shogun in different countries. The 3.5 engines out of any of those models are all setup the same.

So an ebay auction for a 3.5L 6g74 that claims it was out of 3000gt in japan is false information? From what I can gather no 30000's came with a 3.5L right? I will seriously consider doing this swap if I can find the right info.

100 percent false. All 3000GT's came with 3.0 V6's. They were 3 liter or close to it and consiedered them 3000 CC hence the name 3000GT. Had it come with a 3.5 it would have been the 3500GT.

Also there is no such thing as a 3000GT in Japan. They are GTO's there.

I believe you are quite wrong. Seen both. Not the same.

    from wrenchmonkey:
The BEST engine is a JSPEC 6G74 engine from a Front wheel drive Mitsubishi Debonaire, Pajaro, or Kia Grandure (mitsubishi made engine)
I would suggest that a JSPEC FWD 6G74 engine is the ONLY engine to consider, This web page is dedicated to this engine.
The Engine I recieved had a forged crank in it! That alone makes this the only engine worth considering!
not the same. same make/model, yes. same engine? no. close to the same engine? yes. but there's clearly differences. i say this because people have tried numerous varieties of DOHC 74 engine swaps & that data is reflected on john's page. some motors are direct plug & play; some aren't. and it's not purely a DOHC vs SOHC thing.

I've owned 2 Montero SR's with 3.5 DOHC 6G74 engines. They are THE SAME as a Pajero. The Pajero = Montero. Just like a Firebird = Camaro. I'm sorry you think that I'm wrong, but I've done tons of 3.5 swap 6g74's. The Debonair engine is FWD based and bolts right in. The Pajero/Montero engine is a royal PITA to get to work. Someone over seas did the swap with on of those engines and had coolant pipes running all over the place.

What the truck looks like that the engine is in.

That is the exact same as both Mitsubishi Montero SR's that I have owned/driven for years.
