I can't view that site at work, but that supposed trademark is also ridiculous. So is the stupid "stealth" guy.
I'm curious as to how many of these trademarks actually make it through. I've heard of plenty of ridiculous attempts before but I'm not aware of any that actually stuck.
More than you'd believe. However, the good news is that most of these trademarks and patents generally only apply within the same field/genre of business (or, in other words, a company or product that could be considered a competitor - for example).
And while these aren't quite as 'prime' as the trademark Apple was awarded, it's worth mentioning that other competitors to the App Store, which were late to the party (2009), were able to successfully trademark these general terms as well:
Palm trademarked their webOS service: App Catalog
BlackBerry trademarked their OS's service: App World
