Are we talking 3S seats? Are you doing the install yourself or having it professionally done?

"We" have done 3 installs with two different vendors products, and I can tell you that you literally have ZERO chance of getting the seats to look like the lower picture....

This will be for my stealth and I haven't decided if I'll attempt it. I'm pretty good at a lot of stuff but I'm also pretty bad at a lot of stuff I have a feeling that this might be one where experience makes the job look good. So even after doing three sets, you'd say that you still don't have enough experience to get the flat look?

I also didn't think about which one would last longer. I would assume the gathered leather has more give so there is less chance of it ripping overtime?

Here's the gathered look. They still look the same after about 7 years

Not a big fan of the gathered look, plus all the dust, crumbs, and what not accumulate in the folds. Unless you are grossly overweight, I don't think there's any worry about stretching out a flat fitment.

Alan, your seat turned out really well, looks nice!

I took my time. I tool the seat out of the car, brought it into the living room and did it while watching movies. It took 5-6 hours of work per seat.

Strong hands and patience are a must.

Thanks for the info/pics! I really don't mind the look of either but I think I might prefer the flat look a bit more. The biggest thing is definitely getting rid of old worn leather.
