    Question 60k tuneup, right price?

    Hey guys,

Just before I put in the order I want to throw out the quote I got and make sure it's everything I need/the right deal.

From Cherry Hill my quote for the parts following was $479.69 total plus shipping.

    Water Pump MD972005
    Air Conditioner belt MB879764
    Alternator Belt MD187463
    Power Steering Belt MD172376
    Timing Belt MD193874
    Tensioner MD319040
    Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley MD140071
Timing Belt Idler Pulley DOHC MD319022
    Power Steering Belt MD172376
    Throttle Body Gasket MD180361
    Intake Plenum Gasket MD143791

Looking like I've finally found a local shop that quoted me around $450 labour for the job.

I will do the oil/filter, air filter, spark plugs/wires myself afterwards.

Also potentially the 99 lifters from either ebay:
    24 lifters Lash adjusters DOHC 24V 6G72 6G74 3000GT on eBay.ca (item 380340059711 end time 25-May-11 1534 EDT)
    or from 3sx:
Lifters Hydraulic 3rd Gen Lifters / Lash Adjusters Gen3 - BIG BORE :-)*-*Mitsubishi 3000GT*/*Dodge Stealth Parts

Any comments or suggestions to this list please speak up, I'm planning to throw in the order asap!

    Thanks,
    Ryan

As posted elsewhere, your car sure has a lot of belts.

Well, you've got the Power Steering belt down twice so that one's easy..
There's one belt for the AC and Alternator, the PS get's one all for itself.
    The two you need are:

Air Conditioner belt MB879764 (Gates K060455)
Power Steering Belt MD172376 (Gates K040365)

I paid about $600 for my 60k parts from Rockville back in 2006. So, I'd say the parts price is pretty good. I paid about the same for labor at a Mitsubishi dealer. I personally wouldn't let them touch it if they weren't a dealer or a shop that really knows these cars.

I did a 60k for $200 labor a few weeks back, so $450 from a shop doesn't sound like a bad deal as long as they know what they are doing.

Well it'd be awesome if I lived anywhere near some of the members on here that are willing to do 60k work.. but since I don't I'm just going to have to go with the local shop. Seems like a good guy and has worked on stealths before and done the 60k (used to be a guy with one in the area supposedly) so I'm going with it.
Ordered the parts, all OEM, from Cherry Hill (along with extra parts I apparently needed to pass safety inspection here:S) and everything should arrive on Monday, so I'll finally be able to get this damn tuneup done and get 'er back on the road! Would have liked to attempt at least some of the work myself, but especially since I don't have much time for that kind of thing right now it's just better this way. I'll do the smaller things on my own and learn from there.
