My LCD screen project, boost, WBO2, Knock, etc

Does anyone have details on hiding the rotary switch inside the factory fog/popup switch, using the popup button as the knob? I think a couple have done it...

I went to wire up my wideband harness as well as a few other things I was doing to the car. For some reason it got changed from MUT but anyways I'm sure it has been covered already I'm trying to datalog the wideband and boost through evoscan. I had the tactrix cable plugged into the OBDII port and the serial cable into the expansion port on the boost controller. It isn't working. I also tried just doing the serial cable with the boost controller hooked up through OBDII but evoscan was not able to connect this way. I tried the settings in the manual for the boost controller but I must be doing something wrong. How can I get evoscan to work with the ecu and the boost controller?

Put away your tactrix cable because it's not used. LCDBC must be plugged into OBD2 port, and an FTDI-based USB-to-serial adapter must be connected to the LCDBC's serial datalogging cable. This USB cable plugs into your notebook and this is what Evoscan uses to communicate as OpenPort 1.3. Evoscan must be configured in this fashion to work with the LCDBC external datalogging.

I've also gone through the flash ECU route (93 car with 99 flash ECU). Same instructions.

Tactrix 2.0 cable only used for flashing and then put away. For datalogging you must use an FTDI-base USB-to-serial adapter (if you're using Evoscan).

ok only problem i have found with this is when the inside of the car gets hot the screen messes up and looks burnt

Extreme temperatures will make the LCD screen look funny but it's only temporary. I suppose you could go with a vacuum florescent display that can handle more extreme temperature swings but it won't fit in the dash and you're stuck with only one color.

You need a USB-to-serial adapter that is FTDI-based to connect to the LCDBC. What you purchased from me recently is FTDI-based USB to OBD2/MUT cable, so no it won't plug into LCDBC.

For logging with PC (Evoscan or Mitsulogger).

If you want to datalog through the LCDBC, get this cable from ebay: The benefit of datalogging through the LCDBC is you get more samples/sec on Knock, RPM, Boost, WB02.
