I didn't notice your previous reply Jester till now. The datalogging passthrough works like this: The lcdboostcontroller communicates to the ECU and polls regular important stuff like Knock, RPM, etc and the data is buffered into memory. When Evoscan communicates to the lcdboostcontroller, the lcdboostcontroller is pretending to be an ECU and replies back with the buffered data. Any special requests that the lcdboostcontroller doesn't normally buffer is then requested to the real ECU, and the data is sent back to Evoscan. The only special requirement for Evoscan is that the USB-2-serial cable must be FTDI based.

I think I figured out my confusion. Do I need the serial expansion card and serial data logging cable to datalog evosccan? Because I don't have one.

Yes you're correct, you need that if you want to datalog from the lcdboostcontroller to evoscan.

Mainly what I was wondering is can you read the AFR and boost while driving? Seems like the text may be a little small... Can this realistically replace a analog style boost gauge? If so this would really simplify my setup!

is there a way to display vacuum, with aem solenoid? can this device actually store my logs? read thru pdf manuals, can't find it.

You can read both while driving casually, but at WOT I like to keep my eyes on the road. The audio buzzer can alert you during WOT.

To display vacuum you need an external pressure sensor such as the GM pressure, Greddy pressure, or black-cloned Greddy pressure sensor. No this does not store logs.
