lol was about to open the box to investigate the loose expansion port.

My 98 GTO does the same thing. I'm connected via OBDII/MUT and immediately after turning the car off it locks then unlocks, so I can confirm it's not just you. [/QUOTE]

Well I figured out how to get it to stop. Just pull the pink wire from the keyless entry control unit to the data link connector that the obdII plugs into. It realatively easy. I already have the connector loose from its bracket to hide behind the side wall. I just pulled the gary flat pin holder out the back of the plug and there is a little black catch you can release from the front of the connector. I just let the pin hang there in case I want to reinstall it.

The "loose feeling" of the serial datalogging expansion port is normal during insertion. Once it's connected, it's all good. The connector I use is a very tight fitting connector and requires a bit of force to insert. I didn't realize this force was so great that it would move the expansion card also. Of course you could always remove the top screws & lid, and use your finger to give it more support when inserting the connector.

I'll update the manual and website probably in 1-2 weeks time. I just haven't had a slow day yet.

EDIT: Also, who here is using a MirageCorp hybrid serial datalogging cable for connecting to my device? I have a user asking me if it works, it should work, but I'm waiting for verification. Thanks.

Thanks for that will give it a go, is there any side effects at all in doing this?

Also when I turn the car on with the LCD controller plugged in the diagnostic port the ABS light flashes (diagnostic mode?) and then goes away after a few minutes. Does this happen to anyone else, I guess I will just find the wire from the ABS control unit to the data link connector and remove it just like the keyless entry wire...

I believe that is just an indicator that you are in diagnostic mode/connected via OBDII. I could be wrong though.

I think you're right but I also thought it disables the ABS as well.
