if you totally botch it, then any place that offers rebuilt ECU's won't credit you the core charge since your core is not rebuildable.

5 yrs is a long time to sit for these parts.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

already have the water pump and new timing belt ready to install. I'm not worried about botching it, I guess I'm more worried about what else I'm going to find when I do get it running as it has been sitting. I'm tempted to pull the engine and do a full on rebuild, I really should pull the engine and check everything out. The guy i bought it from was a used car salesman in the worst way, tried to feed me a line of bull about how it was worth 3 times what i paid for it even though it wasn't running. he put a nice yellow paint job directly on top of the danube that was already there with no primer in the meantime... i bought it as a restoration project more than anything.

Yeah, thanks for all the help guys, I have confirmed, motherboard in ECU is fried. I am going to use the service manual to backtrack all of the circuits on the board and create a detailed post of it, I would strongly suggest that anyone with a 3S have someone swap out their capacitors before they go bad... when they go, it gets really messy. I'm just hoping it can be salvaged at this point.

confirmed, cannot even get it credited for a core charge. I've got 6' of niobium-titanium, a type 2 superconductor, let's see if I can repair the irrepairable...

no, actually i was thinking more along the lines of a small scale uranium enrichment facility... lol
no, its just a piece of scrap i had been using as a jumper at work, i figure if you're worried about putting too much current through a conductor, get a better conductor. its 50/50/90 rule.
