I went to my first one in '09. I figured Memphis would be about as close to San Diego that it'll ever be, so I'll go once, just to be able to say I did it. I had such a good time, that I'll be back again this year for my second NG. I met DuTTch at the '09 NG and we're now pretty good friends. So, is it worth going to? Definitely!

It’s a great time! I have no idea why Scotty would post up shit Nelson said. My head hurt just reading it. You would think he would have installed a spell check after all these years.

I’ve been going since 08 and I’ll keep going as long as they have them. It seems to get better every year. Probably because the more you go, the more people you get to know.

I probably don't need to do this for you guys, but I'm going to because I want the truth out there. Nelson NEVER asked us for any paperwork, records, or anything else. This is our fifth NG. He sponsored one of them, but as long as we've been planning it that's the ONLY one he ever paid anything toward. He was right - he registers every stinkin' year. And every year he doesn't pay a plumb nickel. So Nelson, fuck you. I've had enough.

That being said, it still kills me to hear people say that kind of stuff about us... It just breaks my heart, and makes it REALLY hard to keep going on this year's event. There's sooooooo much work to be done, and I have absolutely no motivation when I read that kind of stuff.

Now. To answer the question at hand. YES it's worth going. Look... I'm not even a car girl. I couldn't care much less about these cars. But I care more about the people involved than I'd ever care to admit. I've never met Sean Johnson. Met Linda once (can't say we hit it off, but people change and that was many years ago). I was one of the first people to shed a tear when they had their accident. Guys who break down at the race events? Yep. I cry for them, too. And I'll stay out all night ot make sure they get things taken care of. Not because it's my job, but because I care. I won't be alone, either. It's my favorite part of the week.... I get to watch a bunch of guys, many are experts on these cars, get together and help someone they barely know get their car back on the road. It's SOOOO amazing!! And ya know something? I've been to every single NG, whether I was organizing it or not. And I've enjoyed them more and more each year. You'll meet amazing people, and you'll have an amazing time. Tom is right... He came to see how we do it and what it's all about. We had a great chat out on the road course (I got to be a flag person! Woo-hoo!!!) in Memphis. I'd consider him my friend any day of the week, as well as the rest of them.

As for the rumblings that this may be the last... Sadly, it's true. And even if we end up with another, I can promise you there won't be another one like this one. So for anyone who is concerned about not knowing anyone, or feeling out of place... Pull up your big girl panties and get that show on the road!! Introduce yourself at the registration table... I'm not shy. I'll introduce you to EVERYONE. Trust me... You'll walk away with some great friends.

Oh... And for anyone who has issues with someone on the forums... Forget it. Those issues never make an appearance at NG. Even the infamous GateCrasher and Bobby... They hate each other, yet they managed to get along at NG. It's just the way it is.

Hope I've convinced you. Our registration numbers are climbing by the day. Make yourself one of them.

As someone who probably won't be able to make it this year, I will still say you don't want to miss it. It's hard to imagine how you can build friendships in a few days that feel as fresh and real a year later. As great as these cars are, the real magic is in their owners. Seeing a 100 or 200 cars and owners all in one place is an experience you don't want to miss. I will have to say my first 2 NG's were the best vacations I've ever had. Last year I spent way to much time fixing my broke car. lol Ok, I'll stop now or I'll be in debt and showing up after all.

    ^ this.

It's a 11'ish hour drive for us, non-stop. TOTALLY freakin worth it. Some of the best times we've EVER had were at NG's. And you make friends worth driving 17 hours to see once a year.

You'll find that people who come just one time, come every year after that. There is a reason for that.

Well that's certainly news to me. He is mad because he didn't get FREE t-shirts?!

Prior to 07 he did register, pay and not show.

Since Lori and I took over, he registered and sponsored in 07. He has registered since then but never paid.
