Tips/Tricks Confirmation On 3SX SS Oil Like Kit

    Aloha,

While swapping in a set of DR-650's I decided to go with the 3SX SS Oil & Coolant line kits. I believe I've got the coolant lines 100% correct, however, I want to make sure that I've got the oil setup correctly before wrenching everything down.

Namely, there are 4 AN to pan/turbo fittings, three of which are straight through, and one is a 45*. From how I have it setup, the 45* goes on the front turbo, facing outward.

The return lines themselves have one straight end each, and one degreed fitting. I currently have the degreed ends attaching to the turbos, and the straight through attaching to the pan.

Finally, I don't really see a way to run the rear manifold heat shield, as the oil return would be dead rubbing the bajesus out of it.

Can anyone who has been down this road confirm?

Be careful, the angled return fitting that bolts to the front turbo is a known leaker at the seam the two parts that make up the fitting are welded together. Welding is just something the chinese can't seem to get right.

Be VERY careful when you tighten down the AN line to the fitting. Too much TQ and the weld/seam may break/leak.

Stock lines work well. We replace all of the 3sx line kits with stock lines. They always seem to leak.

I put one on years ago, I wasn't happy with the lengths of any of the lines. The only issue I had was that angled fitting wanted to hit the turbo and crack as was mentioned, I used 2 copper washers on that one and never had a problem.

I also got one of the 3SX oil line kits for my converted WRX 13T's. Along with that I ordered the engine bay stud kit. Both of those items were delivered without instructions.
Sure when you take the OEM stuff apart it's likely to be obvious what goes where but I for my part like to plan ahead when I work on the car so it would have been nice to be provided some installation instructions. For example I was convinced the 45° fitting was supposed to go on the rear turbo, which leads to a clearance issue between the return line fitting and the actuator adapter. If that fitting now goes on the front turbo, it might not even be an issue.

So to 3SX: Great products, now go write some decent instructions so we can use them!

As Hans and Chris mentioned, this part that goes on the front... should not go on the front. It makes a real big mess .
