Wed nite one touched down less than 4 miles from here.
Just south of the Nolichuckey (we live on the river) and on the other side of a ridge.
It has been estimated at over 1/2 mile wide, on the ground for over 8 miles.
This happened about 10:15 at night
7 recorded dead so far, not all are accounted for.
Over 30 in the 2 local ER's, many with severe injuries.

We live 6 miles from the NC state line, essentially almost at the base of the Appalachians.
We believed in the myth that twisters can't amount to anything in this geography, adjacent to the mountains.
    Mother nature proved us wrong.

Prayers for all those affected by this disaster

Just had a trucker borrow my phone to check on relatives in Ringgold, Ga.; couldn't get through.

Given your proximity, glad to hear you are ok. Anyone hear from VR4Dani or Rob?

Thank you, Bridge. I've been keeping an eye out for them online or posting. So glad to know they are ok.

if I was anywhere near that shit, man I would build underground!!!

now if tornado watchers would shut the hell up while recording and use a tripod or hold it steady FFS.

Keep in mind he does share a parking lot with a freakin tornado. Holding the camera steady isnt really an option.

At my job, we had a meeting explaining the tornado drill. In short, run like hell to the break room, screaming, when the walls start to shake. Great plan.
