emergency: fire

had a gas fire in my engine bay completely due to my own fault. upper plenum and injectors were out and we doused the engine with flour then water to put it out. what do i need to do to ensure my car is ok to start?

vaccumed out the plenum, didnt seem too bad. the flour was before we put water on it, and the flour in the runners was pretty dry. i have no idea how much got into injector holes into the cylinders., but it cuoldnt have been too much.

Yeah should just burn up whatever flour's in the cylinder immediately shouldn't it?

Make sure every things dry first of course.

next time if you dont have a fire ex, try baking soda(the stuff for crack for those that dont bake). sodium bicarbonate(baking soda) is what the powder in cheap fire ex's is.

thanks. someone just ran at me with flour and i was panicking lol. so far the only damage ive found is a bit of melted plastic

As long as all the wires are ok, you should be fine, make sure there isn't water in the engine. If the plenum is off take the plugs out and crank iit over a few times just so you don't damage anything.

everything seems fine, i cleaned up alot, a few melted connectors but everything plugs in and should be ok electrically. last minute a small red o-ring on an injector ripped and i cant get a seal so it leaks fuel.

god that was freakin scary
