    Collectors insurance anyone

So my insurance company(USAA) said that the way my car is now I need collectors insurance on it. They gave me a company that other people have used with good success from what I can tell. The name of the collectors insurance company is names American Collectors they gave me a good quote but with a 7,500 miles a year limit which for me thats not a problem because I don't drive my car much maybe 100 miles a month or so. They said the Agreed value of my car the way it sits is $7,000 which is about $3,000 more then the total loss value from USAA is
Do you guys think that the collectors insurance is worth it or stay with what I have.
    Thank you
    Jeff

I have an agreed value on my spyder through progressive. I also have $5000 additional aftermarket coverage on our satin black 3000gt. No mileage restrictions. And its pretty cheap. All of the benefits to collector insurance without the restrictions.
Circa 2005... Oh my, how far I've come

Yea I checked into them but they want to much money since I would only have 1 car with them. No other company can Beat USAA on insurance on my wife Hybrid and my saturn with renters coverage I pay $100 a month.

We have a customer that has his 2 spyders and his 41k mile stealth TT on collectors insurance. I know he's limited to 5000-7500 miles a year on each of them, but he says it's pretty cheap. With the mileage limitations, the collectors insurance can afford to give cheaper rates. We just use progressive since we insure atleast 4 vehicles at a time.

We were recommended American collector from USAA too. We had the 94 on it and now the Spyder. We are limited to the mileage, I think we allotted 3500, which the Spyder will be lucky to see that in 2-3 years. Insured for $30K and we pay maybe $300/year.

Has anyone had any experience with making claims through American Collector? Im looking at collectors insurance also so that I have a guaranteed value for the VR4 with all the money in it.

Do they also limit where you can drive it? I've seen some policies that say you can only drive it to things like car show events.

I don't want to use mine as a daily driver or anything, but I'd also like to drive it in to work on a nice day once in a while.

I believe my one customer goes through that company. We should be processing a claim for some body damage to his one spyder tomorrow I believe. I'll let ya know how it goes.
