Is it really necessary to have a pcv in both valve covers when thier eqalizedon the other side of the valve covers anyone see a problem with me removing and pluging the turbo intake pcv and just use the front valve cover pcv and adding a catch can before it enters the lower plenum. Atleast i could keep the oil and other gasses out of my turbos and intercoolers all together. Intercoolers are small enough without adding a quart of oil to them yearly. All this oil makes me want to jerk this engine and rebuild, someone talk me out of it i really dont think its absolutly necessary to rebuild but all that oil amd carbon makes me antsy for a rebuild and then the kids dont get new shoes cuz i went and bought forged pistons because later i might want to put some turbos that will suck my neibors stupid little dog right out of thier back yard. Sorry for the rant

been running with them all open for years on all kinds of cars. If it really blows that much oil out you need a catch can there's serious issues. worst case run a hose from the ports to the bottom of the bay and let it blow out there.

^ If its a dedicated track car then there is no problem with that when oil is changed at appropriate intervals. But for those of us DD's that need to pass emissions and want our dollars to stretch as far as possible, then an open pcv system is unacceptable. Unfiltered air entering into the system contaminates oil and dumping blow-by into the atmosphere is just silly.

^^ Don't rebuild your motor because of oil in your intake. If you are worried about your motor that much there are a couple things you can do: PAO/ester oils act like a detergent and gently clean excess sludge in the crank case and likely oil control rings as well. Seafoam treatments to the intake will clean off excess carbon on the valves, pistons, etc. Just keep in mind that the carbon buildup could be the junk that is sealing up your high mileage motors. I wouldn't be surprised if you lost some compression by cleaning off the carbon.

IMO baffled and filtered catch cans should come stock on boosted applications because blow-by effects octane.
