    PO403 - EGR solenoid

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 94-95 EGR solenoids and 96+? Obviously, the 94-95 solenoids have only 2 ports on them, whereas the 96+ have 3 ports. I believe that my 97 actually has a 94-95 solenoid, because it only has 2 ports on it. Of course, I get a CEL for a faulty solenoid.

Vacuum reduction, Powdercoated misc, cruise relocate, Evo9 BOV, Custom catch cans, Russell fuel filter, SS braided fuel lines, High flow fuel loop, Autogage fuel gauge, Catless DP, DNP Y-pipe, Fuel pump hotwire.

Subscribed... I just deleted the egr on my 97 vr4 and am getting the same CEL. Do you know of any tricks that might make this go away? I have played with running the vacuum lines in different configurations but it also throws the code eventually. I tried following oohnoo's method but it didn't work for me.

    Thanks, John

There's no way around it. You'll need to put it back in. My issue is that my solenoid appears to be from a hybrid car, and I don't know if they are compatible.

Sorry I have done any research yet... but how hard is it to switch over to a 95 ecu?

Not completely. Almost plug and play by like, 8 pins. The car WILL start with no modification though.

Yea, it runs fine with no modification. There are a few pin differences between the 94-95 and 96+ ECU's though.

The engine load pin, turbo meter, O2 heaters, and a few others.
