Third time is the charm? DSM going for 10s (on friday)

Well I just bought MT ET Drag slicks 24.5x8x15 (17lbs) and jegs sport star aluminum rims (18lbs). My street wheel tire combo was 42 lbs, so over all I will save 7 lbs a corner and 28lbs total of rotating weight.

Plus I am sure I will be able to launch at much more boost. I only could launch at about 12psi with street tires and in the previous threads you car see and hear the traction loss. I was only getting 1.65 60ft which is not very good. Many 14b and 16g autos run low 1.4s consistently on dot slicks. SO if I leave at 25+psi I plan to cut a 1.4 or so and cut at least a few tenths off of my 11.08 time. Plus I can let a good amount of air out of the tires if I have any traction problems. But a local that runs 8.60s @171 and had a 1.2 60ft ran those times on the same slicks so I assume I wont have a problem with the lowly 10s.

SO with less rotating weight and a ton of traction I am hoping for 10.80 or so.

Lastly, IF I don't succeed or want to improve I am going to put some methanol in my fuel cell. I have 1150cc injectors. I am at 80%IDC with them on e85. 1150s are roughly 770s (gas) with e85. SO if I run 33% methanol and 66% e85 my stoich ratio would be 8.466, which would make the injectors roughly 660s. I would have to add roughly 11% more fuel to my tune. I think the IDC will still be under 100% and okay, especially if I am running leaner (less rich) than what people do on gas and I can always bump my fuel pressure up since I have enough pump (2 inline walbro 255hp). I expect it to give me a decent increase in power. I plan to put 1gal of methanol in with 2 gal of e85 to make the mixture. I do not think it will be a problem because it is not straight methanol (only 33%) so it shouldn't be as corrosive. All of my fittings and rail is methanol compatible (anodized). And I will be running e85 through it on the way home to flush it out.

But if I hit 10s on just e85 I will without a doubt be kicked for no roll cage. SO I wont need to do the methanol and wont get to run anymore. So I will need a roll cage soon no doubt.

But wish me luck. If I do not get 10s now, I am going to be pretty disappointed. I am planning to start racing 4pm friday april 15th (my birthday), and will post up all the stuff later that night. I hope you all enjoy the media.

Well I just changed the engine oil, oil filter, Auto tranny fluid, tcase oil, rear end oil, spark plugs. I picked up 17 gallons of e85. My slicks arrive in the morning. They are mounted and balanced and I have open lugs. I am ready to go get 10s. Just got to test fit slicks, pack up, tech in and race.
