    Throttle Bodies

I am sure that over the years of engines being in existence, they have definitely found what works.

My question is what about an Iris style throttle body, one like those on cameras. Mechanically simple? Probly not. But it would have the least restriction, when opened fully and could close fully too like current butterfly ones.

I realize the possible gain would be minimal by removing only the butterfly and axle, but would it be a reasonable thing?

Look up "slider" throttle bodies. You'd be surprised how simple the best option actually is...easiest way to adapt ITBs for us as well.

First off, not simple. Piston is an other style, but mor for older cars and bikes. Over the years, designers always come back to the butter fly. Simple as you can get. cheap to build. And the best flow at any opening.
