I'm going to update this thread in the hopes that it motivates me enough to finally finish this damn thing.

While I was on travel for work my wife got with my dad to get my car moved from my parents' house to our new home. Now that we've finally settled in, we had some room in the garage for it so I could hopefully get back to work on it before our third child arrives in March. It made the trip well, but the transfer case is leaking oil all over my garage floor. I guess the driveshaft yoke and transfer case seal need to be replaced. I need to find out if this car has ever had the recall done on it. If it hasn't, I'd love to limp it to the local dealership and have them deal with it.

I got JNZ Tuning to fix up my spare pedal assembly for me, so I just have to yank the old one out and install the new one. It's not a fun task but it's also not the worst job I've ever had to do. I just have to find time to do it. Hopefully sometime within the next week I'll be able to get out there and get it done within a few hours.

Beyond that, the car still smokes like a chimney. The engine runs remarkably well. Very quiet, no breaks in the idle, and feels very smooth. I still need to do a compression and leakdown test again just to confirm my readings from before that the compression is okay and the valves aren't leaking much air. I also have a new PCV valve to replace the old one. If everything checks out and it still smokes I suppose I'll drive it around a bit longer to see if it persists, and if it does, replace the turbo.

As far as long term goals go, I'm not quite sure what to do with my third child on the way. I already have VERY limited time to work on the car with the twins, and I imagine it will be downright impossible with the third coming along. For the past few months I've actually considered selling the car and getting a new vehicle that I don't have to worry about working on. I did some car shopping months ago but put that on hold after receiving news of our third child but once the baby comes and we settle down again I will be getting a new car. Then the issue becomes whether or not I should keep the Talon, and honestly there's no reason for me to do that if I'm getting something like an Evo or FR-S.

I think I've done 6 builds on my cars since this thread started. Get some fire under your butt!

Trust me, it's not from a lack of wanting. It's just been impossible for me to get out there and actually work on it with 20 month old children and a wife that works weekends. Now that she's taken a new job I should be able to find a little time every now and then to get some things done, but once our third comes along, I can kiss that time goodbye again for awhile.

I have slowly but surely been replacing the clutch pedal assembly in my car. I got the old one out and put the switches on the new one. Now I just have to put the new one in the car.

Any progress is good progress at this point.

Got the new pedal assembly in last night! Took a lot of cussing and persistence but got it done in about an hour or two of work. Still have to put the steering wheel back in but that will only take a few minutes. I did notice that a bolt that goes in the steering collar that attaches to the steering gear was missing when I uninstalled it so I looked up the specs and picked up a new bolt at Lowes. Glad I caught that.

That is one of my least favorite things to do in a dsm. I hate working upside down under a dash.

You would really hate the Porsche then, its bad because rhe cowl forms almost a ledge backwards into the cab hard to explain without being able to see in person

I've worked like that before in a 3S so I knew what I would be getting into! Dash removal in the 3S was much worse.
