At my old house we used to have 2x 55 gallon tanks with a 40? gallon tank in between them. It used to be my moms hobby, but I guess it died out hahaa. :/

My uncle breeds Discus, and has a basement full of tanks with a crazy maze of piping. They're pretty cool and I know he does a ton of business.

I don't have any pics, but his website is www.centralohiodiscus.com if you're interested. I know he has probably 25 of the 2'x4' sized tanks down there, and a few larger than that. It's pretty intense and separately climate controlled lol.

We have a hole in the ground in the back yard with some Koi in it.

We rented a machine to do most of the digging, but it was finished up by hand with shovels. The fish are growing like crazy. Our largest is over 2 feet long now.

Let me tell you a little story. My girlfriend's father sent a small visa gift card for is to split as a Christmas gift this past year. I went out and picked up a book. Em decided she wanted a Betta fish. She went out to Walmart, grabbed a pair of them, and an little plastic aquarium that was maybe 1/2 a liter (for both of them). I couldn't allow that, so here is tank revision #1

A pair of these 1 gallon tanks, one on each or our desks. I kept that around for a couple months and decided I needed a little bit more. Insert revision 2:

just a standard 20 gallon. Currently undivided as our two Betta's got through the divider and fought each other, tearing each others fins up pretty bad. So one is enjoying the full tank, the other in one of the small tanks again.

The tank is very much a work in progress still. The substrate is going to be changed out with Eco-Complete when we get ready to re-split the tank. Live plants include Java fern, Amazon Sword, Wisteria, Anacharis...

    ...and a Japanese Moss Boll.

Other item in the tank include Zebra and Tiger Nerites (zebra nerite in the moss ball pic), a mystery snail (came on a plan, watching to see if he becomes a pest), and Amano Shrimp

And yes, those are coffee cups in the tank. Make great Betta caves.

So the tank doesn't look so barren, a small school of Harlequin Rasbora was added

and a pic of the other betta before he shredded his tail:

So the cheap Christmas Bettas that were to be the match for my book have cost a 20 gallon tank with stand, live plants, more fish, snails, shrimp, filtration, heating, water conditioners, multiple fish foods, medicines, water testers, air pump and stones... I think I got jipped on this one.
