Do I need an IAC ???????????????????????

This just started. Start the car (92 VR4) cold and it runs for 20-30 sec with rough idle and low rpm and then dies, will start right up again and the same thing happens. Turning on the A/C and turning the steering wheel does not increase the RPM so I'm thinking IAC. What do u think? Any help for this noob would be appreciated

Could be, will it run if you give it a little throttle?

Then I would agree with your diagnosis. Rockauto sells them cheap.

Testing an IAC is as simple as measuring the resistance of the 3 internal coils.

If I could upload attachments, I would show you how!!!!!

Its true you can test the resistance of the coils but this only gives you part of the story. The small amount of voltage thats used in a voltmeter to test for resistance is so small it may not detect a short and it could just be sticky and therefore not operating correctly. With the danger a bad IAC posses to the ECU and ECS it is too risky to mess around for the price of the cheap replacement part IMO.
