Well guys, the project actually began today!
There have been a few changes (minor) to the list following the pre-project meeting between Ben, Mark Shead and me.
As a high level summary, it was agreed that in order to get the car ready for TOTB we would strip the car back to bare metal and do the absolute minimum to get it running for the event. We would look to make it back into a dd road car afterwards when we weren't under such time pressure.
In short, the car will be losing ABS, AWS, AC (both of which I wanted to keep), all ECU's that aren't essential, its looms, everything off the bulkhead except the wiper motor and brake system..........you get the idea!
The car will have a bespoke loom and a bespoke engine loom made by Rod Tarry of MA Developments to replace the existing wiring.
To remove the ABS we are even removing the old front to back brake lines that run between the front and rear subframes.
There is an outline 7 stage project plan detailing the work being done to help us to keep on top of what needs to happen, by when, by whom and what parts needs to be on site, by when and who is supplying them.
BTW Ben thinks I'm nuts!
